  • Judging by those times I think Roldan could surprise a few people. However we'll know more as testing progresses. think Negrao will struggle.
  • Roldan's performance is encouraging, but does anyone know when the team gets it's hands on the 2007 spec car? the times with the new car shoould give us a much better idea.

Also good news that the team has a new sponsor for both GP2 and Euro300 next year, I would post the announcement but the team site only has it in Italian, so if anyone would like to translate..........................
  • Nice to see Italian sponsors coming on board. Surely Roldan will bring some spanish sponsors along also.
  • The new F3000 car was launched. Looks very cool

    The F3000 Car
  • Considering that the winner of the 2007 Euroseries 3000 will be offered a free test with GP2, we can affirm that, once again, F.3000 can be considered one of the shortest route to this leading series.
Take that all you Euro F3K is a "lesser" series types.

    FORZA MINARDI
  • When do we get the cars GP2 & Euro3000 in the team colours? Any word on a formal launch?
  • January 22nd for the GP2 not sure on the euroseries3000
  • Quig, tell me you're joking.

Not in regards to my racing commentary - but if you want a joke here is one:

What's the difference between Lady Di and the East Germans?

The East Germans survived the wall.
  • Here is another joke.

First guy: Hey, its Christmas Season - can I eat Holly?

2nd Guy: You might want to ask her first!
  • I read on Minardiusa.com that Rodriguez is being watched by Renault. Very good news for him and I guess the Minardi team. Am I right in saying he is managed by Mr Minardi?
  • As an indication of the high esteem in which F3000 is held over this side of the pond, Autosport magazine has been doing its series reviews of 2006.

F1, rallying, sports cars, DTM, WTCC, GP2, IRL, CART, obviously have all been done.

Then Euro F3, Brit F3, etc.

This week we have 'the rest' and in this order:

    Renault World Series (champ: Danielsson)
    Champ Car Atlantic
    US FF2000
    Indy Pro
    Star Mazda
    FNippon
    Jap F3 (champ: Sutil)
    Spanish F3
    SudAm F3
    Asian F3
    German F3
    Oz F3*
F3000 - International Masters (got you going)
    F3000 'Euroseries'

OK, the GP2 test is handy but apart from that no-one cares. It is certainly not a European series.

I wish the F3000 boys all the best but, for me, Minardi this year is about GP2; that is all.

    * Aussies - don't take it personally; remember Webbo had to come over to FFord here.
  • Autosport has obviously gone potty.
  • Simon this conflicts with the FIA Series rankings which have Euroseries/Italian F3000 in the second grouping of 9!
In group 1 are all the biggies F1, Motogp, GP2, WTC, WRC etc
in group 2 are - World series by renault, British F3. European F3000, Euroseries/ItalianF3000, F Nippon, Spanish F3, SAF3, and another 10 or so series. Asian F3 is in group 4, with German F3. I could not see Australian F3 in the rankings but I believe it would be highly ranked.

Check it out its on the FIA website. Euroseries is a very good feeder series to group 1. Ask Roldan Rodriguez!

  • I don't know the basis for these rankings either official or otherwise but certainly some on the Autosport list (StarMazda, USFF, IndyPro etc) I can't see being more important series than Euro3000 and the racing was certainly very entertaining at Silverstone last year. The cars still have the same abilities to develop car control and race craft in drivers after relatively low powered machinery before making the jump to GP2.

I agree with Simon that the teams main focus must be GP2 this year but as a junior team that can be run relatively easily and cheaply, I think there is alot ot be said for it.
  • This just in - from Coloni:

Enzo Coloni, Coloni Motorsport President: “I would like to thank Mecachrome for the big attention given to us and for having trusted and invested in our Championship. We are really proud to have found such a prestigious partner which will allow F.3000 to become the most powerful preparatory category after GP2”.
