  • how so many people stayed in?

you want to get as much track time as possible i would have thought?

am i the only one who can't load f1.com's live timing?
  • F1 Live timing isn't working for me either.

I think I heard that some of the big boys will be saving there engines and not using Fridays. Seems a bit silly. If it's gunna break it's gunna break and you're better off knowing early on in the season and getting the problems sorted.

Can't beleive how close Sato got to the Midlands. Shows that MF1 could be out of pocket come the end of the season if Cucumber can get lucky.
  • I think once Aguri get their new car MF1 are in trouble but there seems to be some delay with the car according to grandprix.com may not be ready till silverstone.
  • f1.com seems to be completely down now

my word what an interesting result so far. Toyota obviously haven't done their homework (without wanting to jump conclusions)! williams look quite strong, as do bar and ferrari (but that was to be expected)

If STR keep up that pace throughout the weekend, people will start to ask questions...
  • These results are not to be taken seriously.
  • Steve Matchett, one of the US F1 commentators stuck it to Mosley pretty good regarding the V8 engines. He was talking about the STR's air resitrictor which is basically a $1 peice of carbon fibre compared to the around $1.6 billion in development of the V8 engines. So basically he was saying the teams could acheive the same result as the $1.6 billion with $12, more like $24 because each team has 2 cars. This really shows that Mosley cares about cutting costs.

I thought it was Mosley or Ecclestone who blamed the manufacturers that they dismissed the idea of restricted V10's, and only they are responsible for the high costs!!!
  • Isn't Fox a big Kubica fan?
    He seems to be good.

I thought at least BMW, Mercedes, and Honda were completely against V8 engines but eventually conceded. I know for sure BMW did not want V8.
  • If only Paul had stayed on for one more year...that could have been a PS06 in the top ten :(
  • Not a chance. The PS05 was a poor car. The only reason the teams agreed to the V10 option was to keep Minardi on the grid as they knew Minardi was no threat in terms of competitiveness.
  • hmmm, did str run unrestricted v10s on friday? they're a second behind midland now.... :o
  • notice in the times it says Redbull cosworth.

    Williams look really good.
