Haas is...

... (A) an amazing debut, the like of which has not been seen since Brawn GP
... (B) showing how important a decent engine is this season.
... (C) proof of how big the problems at McLaren and Renault really are.

  • ... (D) using the system the other teams have set up, to beat them at their own game.
  • ... (E) All of the above.

B & C go together really, having seen the Honda and Renault's performance so far. Look at Toro Rosso switching to Ferrari and Red Bull stuck with the Renault/Tag Heuer. Slap a Ferrari or Mercedes engine in the McLaren or the Renault and they would probably not be in bad shape. Great move by Haas to go with the Ferrari engine and not something like the Cosworths that previous new teams started with, that would have got them nowhere like those before them.

Will be interesting to see what happens if/when Haas get too close to Ferrari's performance...
  • Haas keeps showing good form, but what with Red Bull's performance in Barcelona? :-)
