In 1990 the team was powered by a Ford
Cosworth engine. The drivers were
Pierluigi Martini and
Paolo Barilla. Barilla had to make way for
Gianni Morbidelli later in the season though.
Ferrari announced to supply Minardi with its powerful V12 engines for the 1991 season. Until then though, the team had to struggle with the weak and unreliable Cosworth V8. The only result worth noting was a 7th place by Martini in Phoenix. Minardi scored no points in 1990.
