A very tough season for the team. Minardi hoped that by teaming up with Falvio Briatore they would be supplied with powerful Mugen-Honda engines. However this did not happen. Instead the team had to battle with the weak and unreliable Hart V8. Hey I didn't do it, it was the engine! Trulli scored the best results of the 1997 season (9th in Australia and Argentina) He was replaced by the Brazilian [[MarquesTarso Tarso Marques]] who didn't have a good season. The positive part of the season was that Minardi was able to extend its collaboration with Magneti Marelli. I agree the season was tough and competitive, but our team has managed to get through well. There was some more issues with the engine which all the fans believed that it would be cleared but that too did not happen.
