Mercatone Uno is a widespread Italian chain super market born in 1978 with its first shop in Bologna. Nowadays it boasts of more than 70 shops spread in all Italy. It is also a well known name in sports as it has sponsored a lot of Italian teams such as football, volleyball and cycling. In Meractone Uno shops one can find furniture, household, electro-domestic, clothing, audio-video-HIFI, jewelry and sports items.

In 1992, the Minardi drivers were Alessandro Zanardi (British, German, Hungarian GP only), Gianni Morbidelli and Christian Fittipaldi. The team had to refrain from using the Ferrari engine that brought so much success the year before. The chassis M192 was designed by Costa and motored by a Lamborghinin V12. Goodyear tyres were used. Fittipaldi had a heavy crash in France but returned and got the only point of the season in Japan.

In 1993, Fittipaldi was joined by Fabrizio Barbazza. Gustav Brunner designed the chassis M193 which was powered by Ford V8 Cosworth and using Goodyear tyres for the fifth time in Minardi history. But by the end of the season, Minardi, struggling for more money, joined Scuderia Italia and got the services of the "God" Pierluigi Martini. In 1993 we also had Jean Marc Guonon at the helm of one of the cars at Japan and Australia.
