Red Bull strikes again

Today it comes out that RB is about to purchase and re-brand my local soccer team, the MetroStars, a la Salzburg last year: http://www.metrofanatic.com/mf/story.jsp?ID=3267

I'm a long-time season ticket holder and contributor to Metrofanatic.com. It's a big part of my everyday life, and I can't see myself rooting for another one of Mateschitz' marketing creations. I don't know what I'm going to do.

So now twice in a six-month span they've given me the shaft. What did I do to the Austrians to incur their wrath?

  • They really are giving you the shaft.

We can't even decide on a name for our team here in Houston. At least I didn't care for the old name,Houston 1836, but the other options given are not that great either. At least they are not as bad aswhatever Red Bull is going to do to your team.
  • we've seen it all before I guess.

didn't Mathaeus play for the metrostars on a cold Friday afternoon?
  • Grrr........

Why can't these RB guys *start* something of their own one day instead of buying and rebranding existing structures ?

Too much money and no creativity :(
