Tost joins Squadra Toro Rosso

As we exclusively reported recently, Franz Tost has been named as the team principal of Squadra Toro Rosso. He will take up the role on January 1 2006.

Theæ49 year old Austrian has been Track Operation Manager at BMW Motorsport since June 2000.

"Franz is a very experienced Formula 1 insider, who fits well within our new team," said Dietrich Mateschitz, the boss of Red Bull.

Until Tost is free the team in Italy, which was officially acquired from Paul Stoddart yesterday, will be overseen by Red Bull GmbH in Austria.
