One year on

One year ago it was clear to most of us that Minardi would disappear from F1. How do we feel?

Comments

  • Slight cold but fine otherwise, thanks.
  • Oh, I see. Well, I was never one of the 'Minardi or nothing' camp. F1 is still a great show but less cuddly without Minardi.

Bernie never gave a damn about the small teams yet Max did. When/how/why did he fall out with Paul? For a couple of years they were bedfellows.

Anyway, big mistake to let the privateers die.
  • Oh dear, am I in the same camp as viges?

Everything in life has a beginning and an end. F1 is no exception. Whilst for us, it was a sad day when Minardi left F1, it joins an illustrious group that have sadly left the sport.

F1 will keep reinventing itself, and I for one will keep watching and hopefully both my sons.

For me the passion is the racing, regardless of the colour of the team.
  • I'm still watching F1, can't imagine right now not watching. Sure as hell miss Minardi, but I still support the ex-Minardi team members and drivers. Can't wait till GP2 2008, can't wait to be able to watch Minardi on tv again, just hope Speed Channel keeps GP2 in their lineup, they stopped coverage of WRC last year or so.
  • the loss of minardi make me find a new love.... ferrari....

that is the only good thing that came out of the fall out.....

minardi was a wonderful team, one that i have supported for years without any compromise.... I used to say to my friends "Hey I support Minardi... it is a small team but it has a soul!"

Now I support the Cavallino Rampante... at least people understand me better!
  • I still watch F1 and there has even been a few good races.
I've not been persuaded to support Torro Rosso but I do enjoy it when they beat their owners ;)

F1 without minardi means half the excitment has gone.

I used to follow the live timing for thurday practice sessions to see how 'we' were doing and cheering when we found the odd tenth or two off our lap times.

I miss searching through the latest photos to see if maybe a new wing had sprouted and praying for a new development that would move the team up the grid.
  • Neil_S, you're being Sarcastic right? Supporting TOIT? They have no respect for the spirit of F1. Lets face it folks, Minardi were dead lond before the name dissapeared. Lets face it though the season has been a nail biter. C'mon Alonso. Do it for the Gipper!

how the hell is supporting Ferrari and all their machiavellian ways a good thing?

no, you've just sold out to The Man, and that's the last thing all of us would expect a bleeding socialist to do.
  • neil, you always provide such interesting insights into your personality...

BTW, minardiP1, I finally saw the cars pull over for a fuelstop. It took me a while, but I saw it
