  • If I were you I'd get it insured for £10,000. Now, on the matter of motor racing. Lease has written a very interesting article but we all know the conclusion, even the colonials. Webbo isn't fast enough. Still, you've got Cadel Evans.
  • re: the track. Its a shame they've lost Bridge corner but the new turn one (Abbey) is pretty epic. There is also some overtaking now at the end of the old National circuit straight and into Brooklands.

  • Hmmm, I think Buemi has shown us all he can do and that probably goes for the other lad. Hard to get worked up about STR. RBR has this amazing luxury of using it in the quest to find Webber's replacement. On which topic, I will start a new thread ...
  • Midnight blue is correct.
  • Is it because he is English, motherhubbard?
  • Yes, quite an indulgence but the Bernie/Dietrich relationship seems to be a retread of Bernie/Flav. We will never know what really goes on ...

  • post-race. Great race but am now convinced we don't need the flappy wing; those passes are totally artificial and unnecessary. Seb is streaking away with this one and I don't see anyone reeling him in a la Button in '09. Top dogfight between the Mac…
  • That's very promising. I wonder what sort of turnout they'll get compared to F1 at Indy?

  • Motor Sport magazine reports that Valenica, Barca and Abu Dhabi are being altered to encourage more overtaking/penalise mistakes. Actually, Turkey has enormous run-offs but the blend of corners after turn eight encourages Vettel/Webbo moments that c…

  • Yes, Lotus is now up w Sauber and Williams. V poor for Williams, I think Rubens was 90" behind Lewis at the flag. Oh dear. TOIT? Sutil? Di Resta is spanking him. Yes, I said 'spanking'. A new SuperJock. Bad luck for Nico. What is Brawn's fuel co…

  • Yes, its the Disneyfication of F1. Will be quite appropriate when France hosts a race at EuroDisney.
  • Ciao - where the Hell have you been, launching airstrikes on Gaddafi?!

  • Good race, chopping and changing. Kobayashi is good value and the Macca boys did well. Top marks to Heidfeld for the start. If you get the BBC feed in your part of the world - I think Brundle and DC are ace, such an improvement on Legard.

  • Macca was close to signing him at the end of '09 but then Jenson became available. When you remember the 'bright young things' from ten years back, Alonso, Button, Montoya and Kimi, it seems such a waste to have lost two of them.

  • You said it all and rather well. Bastard. Don't like the wing thing: not F1. Its the circuits, stupid. [Edited on 3-4-11 by viges]
  • As Martin Whitmarsh says, it is impossible not to smile when you turn up for testing and hear that noise as you get out of your car. 4 cylinder TURBO. Oh, what's the point?

  • Its a bulge. RBR seem to have done the most race distances in testing.

  • Goes very light at 18" - did he fly?!
  • Top stuff. More, more ... Lowndes did very well. [Edited on 22-3-11 by viges]
  • Should be great - keep us posted. Actually, go. You have to.
  • Not forgetting Italy. You've almost done the EU. What next, Slovenia or Ireland?
  • "Three cheers to the European Colonialists for setting up yet another fuckup." Ah, yes. He may be a son of a bitch, but he's our son of a bitch. Moral interventionism surely died with the Bush and Blair governments, didn't it?...
  • a) Dictatorships are 'a bad thing' and we should support all brave people who stand up to them. 2011, 1989, 1642 even 1917. I have more of an issue with 1775 but, hey, whatever became of that lot? b) Bahrain is a timely reminder of the sort of shit…
  • Talk about comebacks; hello Jello!
  • Yes, it doesn't feel good, does it? Guys like Robert, Webbo, Kimi, JPM just need the rush 12 months of the year. It makes them what they are. Contracts in football are much tighter, no skiing, motorbikes, etc. I suppose that's why group sex is so p…
  • Yes, its just more faffing about. I look forward to seeing if the demise of the double diffuser makes any difference but I fear we'll have to wait for the 2013 regs; far smaller wings and a return to ground effect. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/m…
  • Praise the noble Lord Bartunek. What a relief.
  • A 'complicated' character as so many are in motorsport! His TWR Jaguar record was amazing but F1 less so. Stoddie's nickname for him was Wa@kinshaw and he was not terribly popular with the Arrows staff when the whole thing collapsed. Minardi fans ca…
  • Top Test team in the world. A truly great team now and we've even got strong reserves. The excuses from the Indian press have been most amusing (eg 'we were only top of the rankings because we kept playing Bangladesh'.) 20-20 has ruined Test crick…

  • I don't think its fair anymore to call England mediocre. They're good and, on their day, very good. The bowlers were a class above the Aussie attack. I think its slightly one-eyed if the Aussie media/public simply attack the home team. England had s…
